Salon Table Sliding Base

Can anyone explain how the sliding base for the salon table works? When we purchased our 53, the previous owner had the base (and high-low function) swapped out and affixed permanently. The base was not secured very well and cracked, so we are replacing the pedestal and base. I'd like to make it so we can slide the table in and out as per the original design. Parts from Selene are at least a few weeks out, so I'd like to see if we can fabricate something. If anyone has an old base with the hardware they are willing to part with, that would work also. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi Nick:

I don't have any photos right now, but I'm sure I could take a couple. The base of the tables simply have a couple of slots--roughly 8-10"(?) long that the table base is secured via a couple of thumb-screws to the floor with. The slots allow the table base to slide closer to the settee or farther away. If you need photos, let me know. I can take a couple.

Thanks, Mark! A few photos would be nice, especially, the thumb-screws. I assumed there are no tracks in the floor and the screws are fixed in place. Just the slotted plates. We did get a price from Selene Americas of $175 plus shipping from China for the hardware, but we're trying to get out of the yard soon, so delivery time is not ideal. Hence, seeing if we can fabricate something at a reasonable price.

Here's a picture of mine on a 57.  The slot is 9" long and 7/16" wide.

Hi Nick:

Attached are a couple of photos of my table base. I have one of the "hidden leaf" tables, but I think the bases are pretty similar on all of the tables Jet Tern uses. I would think it should be pretty easy to fabricate a couple of slotted plates like the ones inserted in my base. The thumbscrews are just something like 5/16-18 (or maybe 3/8"?) stainless screws with a knurled knob on top. You might not be able to find this exact style of thumbscrew, but I'm sure you could find something functionally equivalent.
