If you ship parts in, be sure your shipper specifies that the parts are REPAIR parts, and reference your cruising permit. It may help reduce the amount of duty you pay.

Jack,
You should be able to have a pump of your liking shipped to George Town.   I have never done that myself, and I understand you will need to pay some taxes and shipping.  But that is an option.  I know that Greg Groome, Barry Newland, and Steve Covington have recently done this.  You may want to PM them to find out how.

In the mean time, there is free water at the dinghy dock in George Town.

BTW, we are anchored at Lee Stocking Island about 25nm up the Exumas.

URGENT! Need fresh water pump in Bahamas. Arriving Georgetown tomorrow, April 3.

Last night at SW Point Long Island I developed an unknown flesh water leak which I hope to ID once i get pressure. Unfortunately, pump drained entire aft tank and pump ran dry until it apparently burned up. I will investigate later today when we anchor, bit I expect pump needs to be replaced. I do not have a spare. Does anyone near Georgetown have a spaqre 24v fresh water pump I can buy or know of a source there where I can purchase one?

I am sitting in a marina with probably a hundred Viking, Bertram, Tiara, etc., sports fishing boats.  Fajardo has a huge marina with lots of vendors as well.  If you shop online here and your part is available, I am happy to buy it and bring it to you in a couple of weeks.

Actuator from my Glendinning throttle controller... pretty rare part

Hello Jack... we're sitting in Staniel Cay waiting on a part... no particular plan... headed back home thru the Abacos late April... hopefully we can catch up.

Jack and Terry here in San Juan, PR at Club Nautico Marina - first dock since Rodney Bay, St. Lucia a couple months ago. It is good to be dock people again. We did get a nice mooring in the inner harbor at Gustavia, St. Barth’s for a week courtesy of another Selene owner, Hugues Poroit, who lives there. Going to Old San Juan tonight for dinner and new crew arrives tomorrow for the long trip to Turks and Caicos, then more dock time at Blue Haven Marina, then on to the Bahamas. We should arrive in Georgetown around April 3. Will any Selene folks be around then? We will cruise north from there with plans to arrive in Chesapeake Bay late May.

Roadrunner is crossing today from West Palm Beach over to the Great Harbour Cay, Berry Islands. It is a lovely day out on the water, light air, 2' rolling swell, warm and clear weather. Lots of flying fishes about, too.

Intention is to cross the Gulf Stream today, run below Grand Bahama Island in deep water tonight for arrival at Great Harbour Cay Saturday.

Observed Selene 57 Untethered in West Palm Beach the other day, they look to have crossed last night to Andros Island.

Nice list Greg and Glenda!

Jack and Terry Burgess here on Shangri-La, 5388, currently at Port Louis Marina in St. George's, Grenada.  We came north from Trinidad 2 weeks ago and have been completing boat projects here before heading north to Union Island, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.  We plan to cruise north slowly through the Windwards, Leewards, Virgins, Puerto Rico, maybe the DR again and maybe not (got deported by their Navy last time through!), arriving in the Bahamas late March when the winds die down and the water warms up.  We will likely clear in at Mayaguana and spend April and most of May in the Bahamas before bringing our boat back to the USA for the first time in a few years.

We look forward to seeing some Selenes.  We do have two other vessels down here in the Eastern Caribbean, Northern D'Light in Trinidad heading for Central America and Solar Fox, a 60, permanently in the harbor at Gustavia, St. Barth, owned by our friend Hugues who has a boatyard there.  Hugues is a great resource and contact for anyone getting that far south.

I can vouch for Greg and Glenda's list.  It made it much easier to decide where to go and what to expect for the first year or two Kelly and I went to the Bahamas.

Hi Rob.....glad you liked it....we draw 6' and cruised the Bahamas extensively on our 5'6" sailboat as well as our Selene. There are a few spots to be careful in but for the most part you should have no problem....can you anchor a few feet from the beach, probably not but otherwise no issues.

I have found depths listed on the charts to be pretty conservative and always at MLW.

Good luck!
