Hi All,

I've got a Cummins QSL9 that has a tangle of wires and unused connectors coming off of the controller. Connectors have labels like tanks, transducer, etc. I'm assuming that these are old connections for the cummins smart display. Can anyone confirm?

It’s obviously the turbo encabulator. If you haven’t yet, do yourself a favor and google this and watch the YouTube video on the Chrysler Turbo Encabulator. It’s worth the watch. My father often referred to it as a distravinator when he had no clue.

In all seriousness I have absolutely no idea but am glad you posted this as there are many many such items on my John Deere 6068sfm50 that I have absolutely no idea about and aren’t connected to anything.

I’ll be following this closely to see what the correct answer is.

That wiring harness is attached to the ECU on the engine. The other end of that large connector connects to the C Command Connect box. If you take a look at this photo you can kinda see where the big circular connector hooks to the bottom left of the C Command box.

You are correct in your assumption. That bundle is commonly referred to as the SmartCraft umbilical. Same setup on our twin QSB 5.9s'. Capable of displaying numerous sensor outputs that are not being utilized. For more detail refer to SeaBoard marine at https://www.sbmar.com/technical-information/.
