Hi Greg,

I'm contact with Howard about getting them made. I've learned that they are actually called profile drawings.

I should have something by early next week.

Hello Patrick...any luck on that line drawing?

Thanks

I have a great referral for you for embroidered shirts of all types in the area of Marina Bas du Forte in Pointe-Au-Pietre, Guadeloupe where we had our last batch of Shangri-La shirts done.  Very proud to wear them and highly recommended by us and by the best guide books for the region.  The little shop has been there for many years,  Let me know if you might travel there and I will get the name - and also the names of the best wine and cheese stores, restaurants, bars, etc., which are all over Guadeloupe which is, of course, a "department" of France and all things French arrive daily via Air France jets.

The only thing you can not avoid if visiting Guadeloupe results directly from the French islands and the "body by baguette" meal plan.  You do develop the resulting physique in short order,  The sole remedy for that, based on our experiences, is swimming, diving and hiking the mountains and valleys of Dominica - day after after day . . . .

Fed a pic into chatgpt and asked for a stylized image suitable for a business card. Pretty pleased with the result (attached).

I did a line drawing of our 43 for embroidery. I traced an outline profile view drawing from the Selene website with a vector program (I used CorelDraw, converted to Adobe Illustrator, but there are several programs). Be aware you have to make each outlined/colored section a separate closed item for the colored thread “fill” (otherwise the stitching would overlap). I also had to change some of the things from the factory sketch, like adding a window (since during build we flipped (reversed) the interior layout – for several reasons). I also included our boat name to match font and design on our hull.

Many embroidery companies can also draw/create your design from a photo or pdf of a sketch/profile drawing, but of course you pay for that set up, but once done. you can use it over and over. If you send them a vector file you have created, there may still be a minimal cost for them to set it up as a stitch file to work on their embroidery machines and with the right colors. The embroiderer I use has our stitch file, and I simply order from their online catalog, or take in my own items to have them embroider any time. It’s great. I also did it for my brother-in-law’s 36 Selene.

Thanks much

David & Greg,

This is actually Patrick, Robert's son, using his account to try and be helpful. I've been working with Selene and the factory for about 15 years so I have accumulated all sorts of files over the years.

If you have a picture of your Selene, I can look through what I have and see what matches best. I mostly have "generic" drawings so I can't promise that every detail is going to be correct. There's also the "when you've seen one Selene, you've seen one Selene" issue.

If I don't have anything close, I could also ask the factory to make one up.

Thanks,

Patrick Dunlop

Robert...thank you so much. Perfect!

Thanks Robert....have one for a 53 ?

Thanks,

This is really helpful, thanks for sharing. It seems tho to have a few differences from current 54 design: missing mast and swim platform, has a bulbous bow which is only on larger Selenes…

Hi Tom,

I've attached a file that I have for a Selene 53/54. Hopefully this works for you!

I have other models if others are interested.

I'm looking for a source for a line drawing of a 53 hardtop for embroidered shirts. Any suggestions?
