While Terry was in PT I got my 45 minute walk done. It was 69 degrees when we got home and I knew - Time To Ride. Took the new Scrambler out on the twisties of our Northern Neck (NN) of VA, riding the fields and forests, seeing some local sights, and just loving the warm weather. Photos in numerical order and attached:

1. First stop was Yeocomico Church where George Washington was baptised.

2. The Church was burned by the British in the war of 1812 and was the site where US Infantry camped to protect the area from British Invasion. It burned at least two more times over the years before being rebuilt in brick as it is today. Beautiful!

3. The Potomac River was flat calm when I stopped for a break. Only one boat in sight.

4. A highlight of the NN of VA is the Coles Point Tavern, actually located in Maryland although the driveway is in Virginia. The boundary line is the Virginia shore. You can drive or boat there to enjoy live music, long neck beers and good seafood Spring through Fall.

5. Some areas are Low Country and plenty of bamboo and big grass grows wild.

6. Thought I found the Blues Brothers, but no one was in the Caddy Limo and the two-seater outhouse was occupied.

7. Stopped by Mom and Pop’s Esso station for fuel but it was closed. I hear they are in Tampa for the winter.

8. Got fuel at Jack Rabbit Express on the way home; best fried chicken anywhere. The counter ladies there also offer deviled eggs, collard greens, fried okra and Pepsi Cola to take away. All sorts of breakfast and lunch sandwiches too.

9. Almost home to our place at Sandy Point on The Rivah. George Washington’s mother, Mary Ball, grew up on our street, Skipjack Road, under the care of George Eskridge. She named her son after him in respect.

SMOG 1 was a blast and I am getting comfortable with the ride. Smog 2, a Triumph America cruiser, is in the garage and is ready to ride if a brother wants to visit when weather cooperates.
