I posted last night in our blog “The Adventures of Shangri-La” an update of our experiences taking delivery of a new Selene yacht a the shipyard and commissioning a vessel in Hong Kong. Although there are some inconveniences with getting workers to Lantau Yacht Club in Discovery Bay, Hong Kong due to limited access for trucks and private ICE powered vehicles, we would not trade our adventure here for the world. We are working through the challenges, enjoying DB immensely, and have easy access to Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the smaller islands by ferry which is a five minute walk from our slip here. Anyone following in our wake, and I know there are a couple boats in build considering doing so, is welcome to contact me regarding our experiences. Selene Yachts and SYA have been very helpful.
We are looking forward to our next month here as the weather cools. We will finish what we need to complete before leaving for the Philippines. Halloween is a huge holiday here and I can’t wait for the celebrations. Stay tuned for photos of our costume selections. The Lantau Yacht Club Boat Show is going to be a spectacle, and we are going to be center stage for Selene Yachts. This will be big fun!
